Muscle Up Progression Exercise

In NO way am I proficient at doing Muscle Ups!

But I think they’re as cool as hell so every so often I challenge myself to see how many I can do in a row.

Here is a video of my attempts from this morning.

Just like with any other athletic move, Muscle Ups require that you follow some sort of a exercise progression.

Here is a simple exercise that you can do at any gym that will help you progress towards Muscle Up mastery found in The Grow Stronger IRON CROSS manual.

Hey, the simple fact is that no matter what skill you’re trying to master… you’ll probably have to start from the bottom.

The Muscle Up / Jump is a great way to get started with your gymnastics training.

If you’re not adding some sort of body weight, rings, TRX, martial arts or even yoga exercises to your workout you are not only missing out on increased mobility, agility, core strength and injury prevention..

…you are also missing out on the incredible strength gains associated with expanding your ligament and tendon strength, and most importantly the power output of your nervous system.

In my opinion you MUST be doing at least 15 minutes of this kind of work in addition to your regular strength training or bodybuilding if you want to become the strongest version of yourself.

A big, strong BUT ridged and brittle body will NEVER reach it’s full potential!
